The most common fear about solar is not about panels or inverters. It is about whether the company will exist when the system is old. The best answer we can give is to show our old systems, still running, still serviced by the same team that installed them.
What year eight looks like
Panels: visibly weathered frames, glass fully intact, output within the degradation curve. Structure: surface oxidation on fasteners in coastal air, all torque-checked and treated. Inverter: this is the component where age shows first, and where the 5 to 10 year warranty matters most. Wiring and earthing: checked and re-terminated where needed.
None of this is dramatic, which is the point. An aging solar system is like an aging well-built house: it needs inspection and small attention, not rescue.
The question this answers
When you compare installers, ask each one: can I see a system you installed eight years ago, and can I talk to that customer? A company that has been here since 2009 has a long list of both. A company founded during the subsidy boom has neither, whatever its brochure promises.
