KSEB on-grid solar connectivity procedure (May 2026)
KSEB's instructions to section offices on rooftop solar applications: feasibility within 15 days (ideally 2 working days), registration within 30 days of feasibility, grid connection within 7 days of the agreement, and no rejecting complete applications.

Key points, in English
- Feasibility: the application (Annexure-A) goes in with a ₹1,000 fee, and the office issues an acknowledgement and cash receipt on the spot.
- Applications are accepted on working days from 9:00 to 15:00. Offices may not ask for documents beyond the list.
- On the first working day of every month, the office puts the transformer feasibility report on its notice board.
- Plant capacity is taken as the inverter capacity or 85% of the panel capacity, whichever is higher.
- Feasibility is decided within 15 days at most, and offices should try to decide within 2 working days. The certificate can be sent by email, WhatsApp or post, and is valid for 30 days.
- Registration (Annexure-B) within 30 days of feasibility, at ₹1,000 + GST per kW, with a single-line diagram by an A or B class contractor, inverter, panel and isolator specifications, and type-test certificates for the MCB, ELCB and inverter.
- Single-phase inverters are allowed only up to 5 kW. Registration is valid for one year, extendable by six months.
- Installation is by a licensed contractor, who submits Annexure-C. A meter test certificate from an NABL-accredited lab is mandatory.
- Up to 50 kW, no Electrical Inspector approval is needed; the contractor's completion certificate is enough.
- After Annexure-C, the Annexure-D agreement is signed on ₹200 stamp paper, and grid connection follows within 2 working days (7 days at most).
What this means for you
The steps for a home system are the familiar ones, but the time limits are now in writing. If a section office asks for papers that are not on the list, or holds a complete application, this is the circular to point to.
Stuck at the section office?
We file the feasibility, registration and net-meter paperwork for every SEDNA installation.
