Alongside rooftop plants, we install standalone solar street lights across Kerala for panchayats, residents' associations, campuses and private compounds. They solve a specific problem very well: lighting a place where running a cable is expensive, disruptive, or simply not worth it.
Why standalone beats wired for outdoor lighting
Each light is its own power station: panel, battery, LED and controller on one pole. There is no trenching through a compound, no cable to fault, no meter and no monthly bill. Installation is a day's work per pole, and if a light must move later, it moves.
What to specify
The battery decides everything. Ask for the autonomy figure, meaning how many cloudy days the light survives without full charge; three days is a sensible minimum for Kerala's monsoon. Check the LED wattage against the mounting height, and insist on a lithium battery with a stated cycle life rather than an unnamed one.
For associations and institutions we survey the site, recommend pole positions and specifications, and maintain the lights afterwards under the same 24-hour service policy as our rooftop systems.
